What to do for an ingrown hair?

Have had 3 ingrown hairs in the past 2 months. Never before. What causes this and what can I do to prevent it.

Unfortunately there isn't much you can do.. you'll have to get anti-bacterial ointment and if it actually is growing into a boil where it hurts, get some icthamol that'll draw out the excess liquid and it'll go away.
